Campbell County Historical and Genealogical Society Fund

Since 1990, the Campbell County Historical and Genealogical Society has been preserving and documenting, educating and sharing the stories of Campbell County’s people, places, and events in our small and hardly accessible space on the 2nd floor of the Alexandria Courthouse building. After 35 years, we have filled every nook and cranny. Our Board of Directors has determined that to fulfill our Mission statement and to further our work, it is necessary to relocate to a facility that is larger and provides more visibility and accessibility. We have selected an available site in Silver Grove that meets all our requirements and will allow us to exhibit more of our collections and establish programs and events that will help us share with and educate visitors about the incredible history of Campbell County. Our planned facility will include expanded space for our burgeoning Library collections, a much larger Museum space to exhibit more of our artifacts, including those that are currently in storage, a beautiful event center that will be available to the community, room for field trips and classrooms for day programs for students and seniors, and outdoor exhibits for special programs and historical reenactments.

As an integral part of the community, we will strengthen our partnerships with local groups such as Northern Kentucky University, Campbell County Retired Teachers Association, and public and private middle schools & high schools. We will work to foster partnerships with local clubs like the Lions Club, the Eagles, and other regional museums. As an all-volunteer non-taxing organization, we must reach out to the community for projects like this. This is a way to ensure that every dollar donated is spent for the benefit of our community. The benefits of Volunteering are well documented. We will have expanded volunteer opportunities available from librarians to researchers and exhibit creators to facility & office operations. Heritage Tourism is on the rise throughout Kentucky. We will partner with other regional museums and historic sites all across Northern Kentucky to aggressively market the entire region to bring more tourism, and tourism $’s, to Campbell County. We are most grateful to the donors who have already donated generously to this initiative. We ask you to join us in creating the Campbell County Heritage Center by donating today. This Center will become another shining jewel in the crown of Campbell County and ensure the accomplishments of our forefathers and ourselves are carried forth to future generations.
