Tattoo Removal Ink Fund
At Tattoo Removal Ink, our mission is simple yet deeply impactful: we provide free tattoo removal services to individuals transitioning out of incarceration, specifically targeting tattoos on the face, neck, and hands—areas most visible and stigmatized. By doing so, we help remove one of the most immediate barriers to successful reentry into society: visible tattoos that are often associated with gang affiliation, past trauma, or incarceration itself. Our organization operates both in the community and directly within correctional facilities. Every Saturday morning, our team provides on-site tattoo removal services at the Campbell County Detention Center, allowing individuals to begin the process even before their release. This proactive approach reinforces rehabilitation and sends a clear message: a new beginning is possible. We understand that when people return to society with visible tattoos, especially on the face, neck, or hands, they are too often judged not for their potential, but for their past. These tattoos can negatively affect their chances of securing employment, housing, or even reconnecting with their families. Employers frequently pass overqualified candidates based on appearance alone—especially when tattoos suggest a criminal history. Removing these tattoos has a profound ripple effect. Once the visible markers of their past are gone, our clients often experience increased confidence and self-worth. More importantly, they become far more employable. With meaningful employment, they’re able to support themselves and their families, contribute to their communities, and reduce their reliance on social services. Many become positive role models for their children—breaking cycles of poverty and incarceration. Tattoo Removal Ink isn’t just about erasing ink from skin—it’s about restoring dignity, opening doors, and giving people a real second chance.
